Remi, our beautiful yellow lab, a compassionate and intelligent soul, passed away on February 20, 2025, surrounded by immense love. She leaves behind a legacy of love and gentle kindness. She spent her days as a beloved Compassion Dog at O’Sullivan Funeral Home, where she provided comfort to countless individuals in their times of need. Mark and Lisa, Christina (Matt), all the staff at O’Sullivan Funeral Home, and many family and friends near and far will forever remember Remi as more than a pet — she was a family member, a friend, and a beacon of solace. She will be deeply missed by her fur best friends Ruby and Arnold.
Remi was known for her loving nature and her innate ability to sense when someone needed her quiet support. Her presence at the funeral home was not just a duty, but a calling, as she offered a soft nuzzle or a calm sit by the side or lay at the feet of those who were grieving. She was a cherished member of the O’Sullivan Team, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of experiencing her unconditional love.
Outside of her noble work, Remi enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as playing fetch with her many tennis balls, swimming and relaxing at camp, a ride in the car, and we can’t forget her favourite treat – a plain timbit. Her enthusiasm for these activities was infectious, and she often reminded those around her of the joy to be found in everyday moments.
Words that best describe Remi are “loving” and “intelligent,” but even those cannot capture the full essence of her spirit. She had a unique ability to reach into the hearts of those who were mourning and bring a semblance of peace. Remi’s impact on the community was immeasurable, and her memory will be treasured as a source of light during the darkest of times.
Remi’s spirit will always be a part of O’Sullivan Funeral Home, and her memory, legacy of love and her spirit of serenity will be carried forward in the hearts of all who loved her. So, let’s raise a doggy treat or one plain timbit to the sky in honour of Remi.
