Peacefully, and surrounded by her loving family, Anna Verrecchia passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in her 86th year.
Beloved mother of Giustina and Alex DelGobbo, Nick and Paula Verrecchia, and Brad and Deanna Balsor. Devoted and cherished grandmother (Nonna Cookie) of Jenna (Nick), Paolo (Angela), Justin (Caitlin), Christopher, Bianca, Philip (Madison), Victoria, and Nathan (Jennifer). Proud great-grandmother of Maximilian, Oliver, River, and Zoey.
Predeceased by her cherished husband, Orlando Verrecchia; her loving parents, Nicola and Domenica DiPietro; and her parents-in-law, Domenico and Giusta Verrecchia. She was also predeceased by her brothers-in-law Nicola Verrecchia and Angelo Pettorossi, and her sister-in-law Delfina Verrecchia.
Anna is survived by her loving brothers and sisters-in-law: Carlo and Giosy DiPietro, Alberto and Margherita DiPietro, Mario and Diane DiPietro, and Michelina Pettorossi. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Anna’s life was defined by her deep love and devotion to family. She served as a role model, instilling in her loved ones the values of faith, love, and the importance of family. She gave back to her community through her volunteer work at St. Joseph’s Ambulatory Centre. Anna’s greatest joys were tending to her beautiful garden and perfecting her many cherished recipes. She had an incredible impact on everyone she met and was truly loved by all who knew her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff on 2nd Floor South at Albright Manor, Beamsville, for their outstanding care and kindness toward Anna. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Father Christopher Gillen for all his love and support.
Friends may call at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 3-5 and 6-9 p.m. with Prayer Vigil at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, 166 West St., Smithville, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington. If desired, memorial contributions to Good Sheppard, Heart & Stroke, or Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
We hope you and Nonno are dancing in heaven together again.
