Judith (“Judy”) Mary Raitt (née Gullick) of Oakville, formerly of Aurora, on February 17, 2025, at the age of 86. After several years of health challenges, she passed peacefully with beloved husband of 64 years, Griff, at her side. Dear sister of John Gullick (Vicki). Loving mother of Stephen (Kathy), Michael (Sherry / Suzanne d.2015), and David (Tracy). Amazing aunt of Brittany and Tobey. Loved by seven grandchildren: Matthew, Calvin, Christopher, Wyatt, John Colin, Keiara, and Billy.
Judy emigrated to Canada from Northamptonshire, England in the 1950s and attended Bishop Strachan School in Toronto. She graduated from Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. Judy kept lifelong relationships with classmates and took great interest in both schools’ alumni associations.
Judy and Griff were married in 1960 and settled into a long, happy life of golf, bridge, travel, and enjoyment of family and friends. In the 1980s, she somehow found time to complete a part-time Masters degree in Social Work from York University, on top of raising three boys and working in Discharge Planning for York Central Hospital. She continued working in healthcare administration through to the 2000s, and enjoyed many cruises to exotic destinations in her retirement.
Many thanks to the staff at AgeCare Glen Oaks Long Term Care Residence for their hard work and dedication. Also, to extended family and friends for their condolences and loving companionship.
Memorial service will be held at St. Olave’s Anglican Church, 360 Windermere Avenue, Toronto, on Friday, February 28 at 11:00am. Light refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Canada (parkinson.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
