Anita Gionet Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family of Anita Marie Gionet announce her passing on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Claude Gionet. Anita will be dearly missed by her children Jean-Guy (Holly) Gionet, Leigh-Ann (Raymond) Gunn and Scott Gionet, by her grandchildren Christopher, Courtney and Meagan and her great-grandchildren Alice and Jasper. She will also be missed by her brother Richard (Audrey) Doiron and her sisters Anne-Marie (Dale) Essensa, Jacqueline (Murray) Winchester, Linda (Wayne) Bailey, Claudette (Doug) Ross and Theresa (Kevin) Bogle. Anita is predeceased by her parents Edith and Ernest Doiron.
Anita worked at Hayward & Warwick for many years and later on at Goose Down Cottage in Nauwigewauk. She was a Volunteer at Lakewood Elementary School and enjoyed her time as a troop leader with the Girl Guides of Canada, Troop Lakewood. Anita could be found exploring the Gondola Point Ferry neighbourhood on her scooter nicknamed “Road Runner”, doing puzzles, Bingo and Happy hours with her friendly neighbours on Horizon Drive. Many thanks to Dr. Omotoso, Dr. Love and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for all their care and support.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Family and friends are invited to join the family for a Funeral Liturgy on Saturday, March 1st, in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM. For those that wish to make a charitable gift the family gratefully asks you to support Bobby’s Hospice.
