Obituary of Lillian Laine Bowen
Lillian Laine “Lilli” Bowen, 15, Lismore, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 16, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with her family by her side.
Born in Antigonish, she was the daughter of Janice Elaine MacDonald. Lilli was a grade 10 student at North Nova Educational Centre, New Glasgow. She was a member of the Light Horse Club and Sunrise Trail 4-H Club. Lilli enjoyed swimming and kayaking. She enjoyed spending time with her cats, Dove and Fern, rabbit, Icicle and her paint horse, Mira. Lilli appreciated her many friends and the fun times they shared. She was a “joy” to her family, who will forever cherish her love for life.
Surviving besides her mother, Janice, are her maternal grandmother, Marie MacDonald, Lismore; maternal uncle, Jason (Georda), Lismore; Godfather, AJ (Debbie) Beaton, Mabou Harbour; paternal grandparents, Danny and Edna Bowen, Pictou; paternal uncles, Stephen Bowen, Pictou; Darrell “Bubba” (Sheila) Bowen, Pictou; maternal grandaunts, Lois MacDonald, New Glasgow; Jean Cloutier, Stellarton; Doreen Hadley, Antigonish; maternal granduncles, David (Joanne) Hadley, Bridgewater; John F. “Frannie” MacDonald and Jerome (Frances) MacDonald, Bailey’s Brook; many cousins.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, James H. “Sunny” MacDonald; maternal grandaunt, Elizabeth MacDonald; maternal granduncles, Jerry Cloutier and Ralph MacDonald.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Saturday, February 22 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 23 in the chapel with Rev. Meredith Fraser presiding.
Donations may be made in Lilli’s memory to Pictou Agricultural Society (Pictou Exhibition), Pictou County 4-H or IWK Foundation .
