Gertrude “Gertie” Ethel Millier-Young
1941-2025
ELSIPOGTOG, NB – It is with great sadness that the
family announces the passing of Gertrude “Gertie” Ethel
Millier-Young, who passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital
in Ste. Anne-de-Kent on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born in Rexton, NB, on February 26, 1941, she was the daughter of the
late Thelma Young.
Gertie was a devoted mother and proud grandmother to nine
grandchildren. She found joy in her family, shopping, and cherished
Sunday drives and delicious meals. Celebrating birthdays,
anniversaries, and graduations filled her heart with happiness as she
savored her beloved lemon and carrot cake.
Gertie will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Wayne
Young (Karen) of Targettville and Darrel Millier of Elsipogtog; her
three grandchildren, Chylene Young (Curtis) of St. Charles, Matthew
Young (Samantha) of Miramichi, and Lacey Young of Targettville; and
her three great-grandchildren, Jaden Young (Hearty), Emma Young, and
Bryce McDermott.
Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her loving husband
of 30 years, Patrick Millier; her sister, Evelyn Haywood (Oliver) and
her brother, Earl Young.
Visitation will begin on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 9:00
to 11:00 AM and from 2:00 PM until the time of the Funeral. A Funeral
Mass will be celebrated at 4:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in
Richibucto.
In memory of Gertie, donations may be made to Saint
Paul’s Anglican Church, 140 Browns Yard Road, Browns Yard,
NB, E4T 1N8.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Stella Maris
Hospital for the exceptional care they’ve provided for
Gertie during her short stay.
