Wendy Margaret Saunders
1964-2025
It is with the deepest sadness that we share the loss of our
mom, Wendy Saunders, who left us far too soon. Wendy passed away
peacefully at her home in Lake Utopia with her family by her side, on
February 10th, 2025 at the age of 60.
Born on
October 22, 1964 in St. Stephen, NB, she was the daughter of the late
George Everette (Dick) and Reta (Stewart) Embleton.
Wendy is survived and dearly missed by her loving husband Larry
Saunders, her two daughters Sara Craig (Ian) of St Stephen, Ashley
Disher (Steven) of St. Stephen, stepsons Koby and Seth Saunders of
Calais, sister Lynn Underhill of Fredericton, brother Trent Embleton
of St. Stephen, father in law Rick Saunders of Bailie, sister in law
Jen James (Tim) of Calais, many nieces, nephews and cousins, cherished
friends Kim, Shirley and the Richard family. Wendy was pre deceased by
her brother in law Jim Underhill of Fredericton and mother in law
Patricia Gagner of Calais.
Nanny will be sadly
missed by her grandchildren Madisyn, Londyn and Blair Disher, Layla,
Ryan and Jackson Craig.
Wendy graduated in
1983 from St. Stephen High School and later spent her career as a PSW
working for Home Support services. Her care, generosity and compassion
knew no bounds and her kindness touched many lives.
Wendy had a love for animals, the outdoors, fishing, gardening
and spending time on their deck with a view, always taking the time to
embrace a beautiful sunset over the lake. There she leaves her undying
love to her husband, who endlessly made her laugh, feel safe and
loved.
Her life was a living example of
resilience, amidst the challenges life brought her way, mom never
wavered in her compassion for others. She taught us the importance of
kindness and the value of hard work. She held fast to her beliefs and
those she loved.
We honour our mom for her
guidance, her love and her sacrifices.
As we
move forward, we promise to live our lives in a way that would make
her proud, to love as fiercely as she loved us, and to always be
grateful for the precious gift of life. How lucky we are to have
something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and
appreciation to Wendy’s nurses from Extra Mural in St.
George who helped her stay in the comfort of her home until the very
end.
A celebration of Wendy’s life will will take place at a later
date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer
Society or the IWK Childrens Hospital would be appreciated by the
family.
