WILLIAM “BILL” PETER SPENCE

Surrounded by his loving family, at Victoria Hospital in London on Saturday, February 8, 2025, William “Bill” Peter Spence of Tillsonburg passed away at the age of 74 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Rosemary (Treszl) for 52 wonderful years. Proud and loving father of Kelly Ventnor (Jeremy) and Tracy Hird (Jason) both of Tillsonburg. Cherished grandpa of Brooke Gornik (Michael), Ryan Ventnor (Julianna Brotz), Cameron and Carson Hird. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law Margaret Treszl. Predeceased by his mother Marion Spence, mother-in-law Margaret (Schmidt) Treszl and father-in-law Frank Treszl.
Bill was a dedicated Police Officer. He served on the Norwich, Oxford Community and City of Woodstock Departments over his 23 years of service. Bill was a family man. He loved spending time with his family more than anything, especially his grandchildren. Bill was also an avid outdoorsman including hunting and fishing. Bill also enjoyed travelling with his family.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The Spence family will host a Memorial Visitation at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel. Memorial donations to Diabetes Canada, The Kidney Foundation or Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll would be appreciated and may be made directly online or by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home.
