It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Irene at the age of 93 at The Village of Tansley Woods, Burlington.
Born in Brantford to George Paddock and Edna Stewart Paddock Lane. Loving stepfather, the late Douglas Lane (the late Edna), (the late Arlene).
Reunited with her late husband and best friend, Jack Montgomery of 61 years. Jack and Irene were married on September 17, 1955 in Milton.
Dear Mom to John (Christine), Sharon, and David (Allison). Devoted Grandma to Bradley (Annabelle), Olivia (Drew), Dana (Marcus), Maureen (Michael), and Jack. Loving Great-Grandma “Gee-Gee” to Matthew, Emma, and Luca. Devoted sister to the late Earl Paddock (Phyllis) and the late Lorne Paddock (the late Vicky), (Louise). Sister-in-law to the late Peggy (late Fred) Bennett and the late Joan (Bill) Hewitt. Cherished Aunt and Great-Aunt to many special nieces and nephews.
When her three children came along Irene delighted in caring for family with such love and commitment and when her five grandchildren were born, she so enjoyed spending time with them and supporting them in all their endeavours. Irene was a phenomenal baker and an avid sports fan.
Irene and her husband Jack were members of Appleby United Church since 1968, helping her community, her friends, her neighbours and her family in anyway that she could. A generous and selfless, classy lady who always shared a smile. Such a wonderful person who will be so deeply missed but never forgotten.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. Service of Remembrance will be held at Appleby United Church, 4407 Spruce Avenue, Burlington on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11 a.m. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Burlington to take place at a later date.
If you wish, donations to Appleby United Church “Memorial Garden” or Schlegel Village Alzheimer’s Institute would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
