It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Hoc Quach, who departed this life on January 12, 2025, at the age of 48 surrounded by his family. Hoc lived a life marked by independence, resilience, strength and determination.
At a young age, Hoc immigrated to Canada, where he faced the immense challenges of adapting to a new culture, language, and way of life. These early struggles shaped his determination and resourcefulness, qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
Though there were years of distance between Hoc and his family, we are profoundly grateful for the opportunity to reconnect more regularly in recent times. His journey of resilience and strength became a source of inspiration, and his openness in later years allowed us to rebuild bonds and create cherished memories.
Hoc will be remembered for his hard-working spirit, independence, as well as his ability to overcome life’s challenges with determination. He leaves behind his father Bang, mother Hong, sister Van (Hung), sister Khanh, brother Chieu, sister Mui, his nieces Stephanie, Linh (Manny), Le An and nephew, Nicky and grand-nephews Quinnton, Austin and Lincoln, who will honour his legacy by carrying forward the lessons of perseverance and love that he exemplified.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SCIU) at Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care and support. Additionally, we are deeply grateful to Bardal Funeral Home for their professionalism and guidance during this difficult time.
Hoc’s story reminds us of the power of reconciliation and the enduring bonds of family. Though the time we shared was too brief, we will forever hold onto the gratitude for the reconnection and healing we found together. Rest in peace, Hoc. You will always be in our hearts.
