It is with heavy and broken hearts, that we, the family of Derek Albert Coombs announce his peaceful passing. We have lost a wonderful son, brother, brother-in-law and very special uncle. Left to mourn his great loss are his beloved mother, Florence; his only sister: Carol and brother-in-law: Paul Smith and his precious niece: Brooklyn. Also, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Predeceased by his loving father: Eugene; Grandparents: John & Clara Coombs and Jack & Annie Stone, Great Grandparents and all the treasured pets that have gone before.
Derek’s family wish to thank all members of the health care team for their exceptional care that he received in his time of need.
We held you close within our hearts and there you shall remain, to walk with us throughout our lives, until we meet again. “We miss you.”
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, Cranes Road, Upper Island Cove on Monday: 2:30-9 P.M. and Tuesday: 10:30 A.M.-1 P.M. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Derek A. Coombs Memorial Fund. Email Transfers can be sent to sladesfuneralhomenl@gmail.com, password: dacoombs. Please include a note stating what or whom the donation is for.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 2 P.M. from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Upper Island Cove. Interment will follow on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 2 P.M. at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Upper Island Cove.
