Donna’s Obituary
Eisner, Donna Marilyn – 90 of Middleton, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Judge Robert Clifford and Thora McClare (Freeman) Levy, formerly of Chester and Bridgewater. Donna graduated from Bridgewater High School and attended Acadia University. She worked at secretarial jobs for 42 years, some of which were CHNS radio, AB Thompson & Associates in Halifax, and College of Geographic Sciences (COGS) in Lawrencetown. Her most exciting job was in 1967 when she spent two months in Toronto doing secretarial work for Bob Stanfield during his bid for the leadership of the PC Party of Canada and was proud to have provided him with the banana which he ate on live TV in the Maple Leaf Gardens the night of the election. The family moved to Middleton in 1973. She enjoyed knitting, reading, puzzles, playing bridge, and camping. Donna and her husband, Roger spend four months travelling across Canada in their RV in 1999 and visiting many relatives along the way. She was a member of Rosemary Chapter IODE and received her Life Membership, Order of the Eastern Star – Annaval Chapter, several bridge clubs, Middleton Baptist Church and enjoyed 12 years as a member of Armdale Yacht Club, Halifax. Donna served on the board with Meals on Wheels and Twelve Baskets Food Bank. Donna is survived by her daughter Heather, Fredericton; her son Allan (Sandra), Sus; grandchildren, Andrew “AJ” (Marley), Josh (Kelsey) Harris, Cynthia (Aaron), Brittany Eisner (Eric Jonsson), all of NB, Laura Randel, AB, Kelsey Eisner, NS and Anthony “Tony” Eisner, AB, step-grandchildren, Rick (Tanya) Harris, Robin (Amy) Harris, Shannon (Dan) Harris Fougere, Shane Boyd, Louis Boyd, all of Sus, Jay Taylor, Halifax, Jamie Akearok, Ottawa; 15 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; brother Bob (Susan), Avonport; six nephews and one niece. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Roger, son Phillip, step granddaughter Katie, brother Philip (Jean), sister Nancy Elizabeth in infancy, and son-in-law Richard. There will be a Celebration of Life for Donna at 2:00p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Dr. Danny Smith officiating.
