Obituary
Tejinder (Ted) Singh Randhawa, 61 years old, died suddenly on Wednesday December 21, 2022 in Penticton, BC.
Ted was born August 25, 1961, in Manilla, Philippines to (late) Devinder Singh Randhawa and Jasmel Kaur Dhaliwal. He then moved to Shimla in India to attend boarding school. Ted then attended Pen Hi Secondary School and graduated with the class of 1980. Shortly after completing his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in the Philippines, Ted moved back to Penticton to unite with his family including his brother and parents.
Ted is remembered and missed daily by his wife Bira; children Esha, Zarina, and Ajay; mother, Jasmel; brother, Malvinder; his nieces, Jenny and Ritchelle; nephew, Jason; great-nephews, Rylen, Naysen and Jax and great-niece, Ava. He was loved and respected by his countless family and friends all over the world.
Ted had many passions in life. He was known to be gifted in woodworking; he was an artist and a craftsman. His family has been blessed with all of his incredible projects including the beautiful family home he built. In addition, his pride and joy was his motorcycle he built from scratch and his powerful 1990 Honda CRX that he proudly took care of for 32 years. He was known to be a golf enthusiast, have the latest tech gadgets and best sound systems. He had a never-ending list of projects he couldn’t wait to complete. If asked for help he would be the first to lend a hand or his expertise. He was an incredibly accomplished man, with an unforgettable presence and laugh.
Throughout his life, Ted was always learning new things and sharing his crafts by teaching. He taught summer woodworking classes to students in Penticton at the Okanagan Summer School of the Arts program. He taught his children to work with their hands and to be self sufficient, he taught compassion to strangers and he always had strong morals and values that will live on through the countless lives he impacted. Ted’s diverse skill set was unmatched from his knowledge of science to art history. There wasn’t a topic in which he didn’t have an educated opinion about. “Knowledge is power. Knowledge is something nobody can ever take away from you” was a favourite quote of Ted’s that he regularly reminded his children of. He was as much an artist as he was an intellect.
May Ted rest in peace and be joined together again with the man he missed the most, his Dad.
