1945 – 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, John, on February 4, 2023. He was in the presence of family who love him deeply. John started his journey on March 4, 1945 in Sirko, Manitoba.
He is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth; his daughter Kim (Joe) Tyson and grandchildren Cameron and Brayden; and his son Bradley (Terry) Cherewayko. John also leaves behind his sisters Mary, Verna, Ann and Florence, extended family, nephews and nieces and numerous friends; as well as his nephew Bob and niece Elaine.
John was predeceased by his parents Wasylka and Wasyl, and his sister Helen, and brother Matt.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Selkirk General Hospital for their compassion and support.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place May 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church; 730 James Street, Beausejour, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
