Obituary of David Gordon Anderson
July 20, 1962 – Camrose, Alberta
January 29, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with broken hearts that we announce that our beloved husband and dad, David Anderson, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at the age of 60 years.
David was born in Camrose, AB, on July 20, 1962. He moved to Edmonton, AB, in 1980, where he graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Engineering, before moving to Lloydminster, AB, in 1992, and then Calgary, AB, in 2021.
David married the love of his life, Connie Anderson (nee Franke), in 1992. David and Connie always found fun and laughter through their 33-year relationship. Their love and commitment were unwavering.
A loving father, David and Connie raised two sons, Brett and Sam, who meant the world to David. David’s family was his number one priority, and he was loved deeply by them.
David was accomplished in his decades-long career as a professional engineer, and he was well-respected in his profession as both a colleague and a leader.
He studied karate for 42 years, and loved cooking, playing guitar, and making his family and friends laugh. David found joy in bringing joy to others.
Besides his loving wife Connie, David is survived by his two sons, Brett of Lloydminster, AB, and Sam of Vancouver, BC; his mother Doris of Calgary, AB; his brother Duke (Lynne) of Calgary, AB; his sister Wanda (Pierre) of Gatineau, QC; his mother- and father-in-law, Heinz and Theresia of Calgary, AB; his three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Rita (Dan), Brenda (Kelly), and Peggy of Calgary, AB; numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as too many friends to count. David was predeceased by his father, Philip Anderson in June 2004.
Funeral Services will be held at Foothills Alliance Church (333 Edgepark Boulevard N.W., Calgary, AB), on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00 am. Reception to follow at Foothills Alliance Church – Rundle Hall. Per David’s preference, ABSOLUTELY NO TIES ARE ALLOWED. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, or the Ronald McDonald House in Calgary. The service will be available online at: livestream.com/accounts/4034818/events/10761763
