David “Dave” Arthur Reginald Baker
March 28, 1937 – June 15, 2024
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Kenny’s Pond Residence on Saturday, June 15, 2024, Dave Baker, age 87 years. Beloved husband of 49 years, Millie (née Dollard); father of Ian (Sally) and Lyn Walters (Wynne); brother of Diane Reeves; grandfather of Chloe, Nick and Matthew; great grandfather of Lily (UK); many nieces and nephews as well as a large number of friends and neighbors – all of whom are considered family in our hearts.
Predeceased by his parents Stan and Babs (Folkestone UK), sister Pauline Barber (Doncaster UK) and brother Keith (Calne UK).
He proudly served the Royal Air Force for 22 years. In 1972 he met the love of his life, Millie, in Goose Bay and happily settled in St John’s in 1977. He embraced being a Newfoundlander and he was a good friend and neighbor to all in Dartmouth Place.
A family man and friend to so many. A true gentleman with a wicked sense of humor. He loved golf, gardening, travel, coffee group and lived life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed by all.
Thanks to the Staff of 2nd floor Kenny’s Pond Residence for their care and compassion over the past 18 months.
Particular thanks to Barb, Claire and Rick who’s support, love and friendship have been constant over many years.
A very special thank you to his niece Maureen for her ever present loving care during the recent difficult years.
