Passed peacefully away with his loving family by his side on October 19, 2023 at the age of 60.
Predeceased by his mother Annie (Leaman) and father James Benmore, brothers James, Gerard, Gary; sister Brenda.
Left with loving memories his children Lynada, Jennifer (Jess), Melanie (Jennifer); grandchildren Blake, Braiden, Bentley, Briley, Gracelyn; siblings Elizabeth (Jim), Jimmy (Heather), Karl (Rhonda), Cynthia (Wayne), Marilyn (Dennis); mother of his children Cynthia; good friend and confidante Andy. Derek will also be missed by a large circle of family and friends.
Special thanks to St. Clare’s 6 East nursing unit for all the care, compassion, and friendship provided during the last month of his life. The family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. J. Taylor, Dr. A. Hyde, and Dr. O. Holmes for their exceptional care, and Rev. David Pilling for his many visits.
Cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday, October 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, October 23 at 11 a.m. Private interment to follow for family.
