It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Joshua Thornhill of Fortune, NL announces his passing.
Joshua passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin, NL on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the age of 90. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his children, Hubert Thornhill of Grand Bank, Sylvia Thornhill of Fortune, Josephine Thornhill of Fortune, Rita Thornhill of Grand Bank; sister, Mary Ann Price of Fortune; 9 grandchildren, Exie, Roland, Linsay, Steven, George, Jason, Kurt, Michael, Melissa; 11 great-grandchildren, Tia, Alex, Alana, Sawyer, River, Malik, Mehdi, Milan, Lance, Hunter, Chelsea; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Joshua was predeceased by his wife, Lucy Thornhill; parents Reuben and Deborah Thornhill; daughter, Debbie Courtney; plus a number of brothers and sisters.
The Thornhill Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Fortune on:
Sunday, April 28th from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM
Monday, April 29th from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM
A funeral service will take place at All Saints Anglican Church in Fortune on Tuesday, April 30th at 2:00PM.
Interment to follow at the All Saints Anglican Cemetery in Fortune.
In Joshua’s memory donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or flowers gratefully accepted.
