Passed on September 24, 2023 at his home on the shores of Lake Temiskaming.
Mike was born April 6, 1961 in Port Perry Ontario to John Joseph Doupe and Rosetta Marlinne Doupe (née Stone). He is pre-deceased by his father and elder sister Marcelle, survived by sister Suzanne and brother David. He leaves 4 loving children; Jacob, Micah, Abraham and Michael, as well as grandson Solomon.
A thoughtful and articulate man who did not shy away from controversy, Mike had an undergraduate degree in economics from Dalhousie, a Masters in Economics and a Law Degree from Western. He built his own law practice in the town of New Liskeard, where he served clients with passion and integrity for three decades. Mike understood work/life balance before it became a topic and was a devoted father to his daughter and 3 sons.
Mike may have left the party a little early but not until he fully enjoyed all that was being offered.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, 81 Maple Street North, New Liskeard. Michael was a significant supporter of local arts and culture throughout his life. In his final strides, access to care and support in the North-East Ontario area was crucial.
