Ernie Fleming, age 73, of Dublin passed away suddenly at Stratford General Hospital Wednesday October 18, 2023.
Ernie was the much loved husband of Elizabeth Fleming for 53 years. He will be deeply missed by his two sons, Jason (Cindy), Chad (Tara). Loving Papa to Jeffrey (Kylie), Kolbie DeBruin (Brandan), Nicholas (Danisha), Brett (Taylor), Braedan (Carissa), Andrew (Regan). Very proud Great Papa of Maven, Jax, Theo and Brinley. Dear brother of Kevin Fleming (Linda), Paul Fleming, Eddie Fleming (Carol), and Maryanne Fleming. Dear brother-in-law of John Brown, David Brown (Charlene), Glenna Prince (Don), Catherine Kelman (Jim), Dianne McFadzean (John), Heather Bennewies (Warren), Jamie Brown (Sandy), Andrew Brown (Janet), Robbie Brown (Jody). Also surviving are his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Edward and Leona Fleming, mother and father-in-law Herb and Jean Brown, brother-in-law Thomas Prince, sister-in-law Lee Brown, and nephews Travis Brown and Jim Prince.
Ernie was Charter Member of the Dublin and District Lions Club and recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for outstanding service to his community. He was a longtime member of the Mitchell Golf and Country Club and never failed to commit to his hobbies of Golf and Hockey.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Sunday, October 22 from 1-4 p.m. All are invited to continue celebrating Ernie’s life at a reception at the Dublin Hall and Pavillion, 7015 Helen St., Dublin. Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of one’s choice would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
