Obituary of Nola Ruth McGregor
NOLA RUTH MCGREGOR (nee Wood). Age 71. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, after a short battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years Wayne, her beloved son Michael (Kelly) and her cherished granddaughter Abigail. Older siblings, Roger (Sharon) Wood, Virginia (Robert) Coles. Nephew Colin Wood, nieces Janet (Randy) Klaver and Shelly Wood. Grandnieces Stephanie Bielicz and Rhyle Wood. Grandnephews Kurt and Trever. Great-grandniece Mya Bielicz.
Born in St. Catharines, Nola moved to London in 1971 to attend Fanshawe College. She started her medical administrative career at University Hospital, just as it opened, in the Medical Records Department. She later moved to the UH Neurology Department working for Dr. Bill Brown as the coordinator for the Neurology Post-Graduate Studies program. She ended her career as an Editor for the Journal of Stroke while the Editorial Office was in London. Nola retired in 2014. After retirement, Nola loved to read, do needlepoint, travel as much as possible and going to the theatre. Most of all over the last two years she loved spending time with Abigail.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Cancer Program through LHSC Foundation or the Unity Project for the Relief of Homelessness in London.
