Evangeline “Vangie” MacGillivray passed away at St. Lawrence Lodge in Brockville, on March 15, 2024, at the age of 92, with her daughter by her side. She was born in Aylesford, Nova Scotia, on August 3, 1931 to Myron and Blanche Nichols.
Vangie was a Registered Nurse and worked at both the former St. Vincent de Paul Hospital as well as the Brockville General Hospital and was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi for many years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking and had a great sense of humour that persisted until the end.
Evangeline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James MacGillivray, as well as her three brothers, Ambrose, Garth and Laird. She is survived by her daughter, Lyn MacGillivray, son, Dwain MacGillivray, grandson, Kyle Bolton (Cindy Zeng), granddaughters, Jillian and Chelsey MacGillivray, great granddaughters, Harper and Aubree, niece Beth (John) Ellis and family as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Saturday, March 23. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
