Camille d’Eon
Camille Auguste d’Eon, age 96 of Middle West
Pubnico died the 2nd of February, 2024 in
Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Middle West Pubnico, he
was a son of the late Edmund and Hattie (d’Entremont)
d’Eon. He is survived by a son Maurice (Suzette)
and a daughter Nicole (Toby) both of Middle West Pubnico.
Grandchildren; Martine, Renaud, Sylvain and Lucien. Great
grandchildren; Alice, Lucie, Travis, Aimee, Xavier and
Eloise. He was predeceased by his wife Christina Marie
(Tina) (Amirault) d’Eon, a brother Gerard, sisters Zita,
Celeste and Henriette and a son-in-law Craig. Visitations
will be held Monday February 5th, 2024 from 1
to 2 pm followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 2 pm all taking
place in Saint Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Middle West
Pubnico with father Cyril Assihou officiating. The service
will be live streamed on the West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation
Services Facebook site beginning at 2 pm. Internment will be
in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to
the Saint Peter’s Church Heating Fund or to a charity of
choice. Online condolences may be forwarded to the family at

to the West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middle West

At 17 years old, Camille joined his father Edmund who was
building boats. At the age of 24, Camille was already building them on
his own as Edmund had retired. At this time, he was mostly building
pleasure boats and often talked about his clients and how they kept in
touch.
In 1978, Camille’s son in law, Craig, started working with
him. In 1984, his son Maurice joined the team and a new breed of
fishing boats was born. Camille was extremely meticulous in his work
and was proud to deliver top-notch boats. Now, Camille’s grandson
Sylvain has joined the business making d’Eon Boatbuilders a 4th
generation business. During his retirement, Camille enjoyed building
boats to scale and loved playing with his grandchildren and great
grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all.
