Obituary
The family of Graham “Robbie” Robert Halpin are saddened to announce his passing at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Saint John on October 9th, 2023. Born in Saint John on September 12th, 1957, Robbie was the son of the late Gordon and Joan (Young) Halpin. Robbie worked in construction throughout his career and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 946. He was a well-known driver in the local Stock Car circuit. He loved to keep busy and was very hard working. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Robbie will be forever missed by the love of his life and best friend of over 20 years Laura Bonnell of Saint John; his children Matthew Halpin (Madison), Dale Halpin (Madison) and Lindsay Halpin (Moe) all of Saint John his brothers Peter Halpin (Amy) of Meenan’s Cove and Robert Hodgson (Gabby) of Edmunston; his sisters Jacqueline Halpin of Vancouver and Angela Haggerty of Maces Bay; his grandchildren: Callie, Cullen and Charlie; as well as by many extended family members and good friends. Besides his parents, Robbie was predeceased by his brother Lloyd Halpin, his sister-in-law Martha Halpin, his nephew Gregory Halpin and his step-father Joe Haggerty.
Thank you to “Our Angels” at the St. Joseph’s Hospital CAM Unit, Lynda Parks, charge nurse and all staff for your kindness, care and compassion.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place in the Fundy chapel on Saturday, October 14th at 10 a.m. A private burial will be held at Fernhill Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation-CAM Unit or a charity of your personal choice would be appreciated by the family.
