Lewis (Louie) Wilson
Nov 5, 1942 – Apr 26, 2024
Louie Wilson of Fredericton, NB passed away peacefully with family at his side at the age of 81. Memories of Louie will be forever cherished by his wife Joan (Walsh) Wilson; his children Jeff and Kim Wilson; his grandson Jacob Wilson (Jeff’s son); sisters-in-law, Judy Wilson and Pat Wilson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Louie was predeceased by his parents Harry and Daisy (Wilkins) Wilson; his brothers, Vance (Kay), Leslie (Jean), Charlie (Ruth), Rodney (Judy), and Ronald (Pat); and sisters, Floris Saunders (Byron), Edith Wilson (Hack) and Shirley Brooks (Jim).
Throughout their 59 years of marriage Louie and Joan built a life together that was worthy of envy. They were best friends and business partners. Together, they built a successful Amway business, renovated and farmed several properties, and raised their children working alongside of them.
Louie lived life his way. His lifelong passion was in working with animals. Whether it be with cattle, horses, dogs, or the multitude of other critters on the farm; or whether it was through his adventures as an outdoorsman and avid hunter of deer, moose, raccoon, bobcat, or bear; he had so many stories to tell that he could have filled many books. Sharing his knowledge and love for this way of life to his grandson Jacob was among his greatest joys.
For those who wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer or Parkinsons Societies of New Brunswick, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Internment will happen in a private ceremony at a later date. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
The family would like to thank the staff of the Birch Grove Unit, York Care Center, for their patience, understanding, compassion, and respect, as they cared for Louie in his final weeks. Their kindness will forever be appreciated.
Come join our family on Saturday, May 4th from 2-4 pm, to reminisce, as we remember a life well lived. Hosted by York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB.
