Philip’s Obituary
It’s with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Philip Collett on October 14, 2023 at the age of 83 years.
Phil was born at home in Worsley, AB on January 18, 1940, with his oldest sister Gladys’ assistance. He was the fourth of six children born to Charles and Ethel Collett. He was raised in Fairview, AB where his family ran the local grocery store, Collett’s Grocerteria.
He spent his adulthood working as a social worker, farmer, book store owner and janitor. He was also his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s #1 fan in all of their sports and accomplishments. He was better known around town as “Grampa” than Phil!
He is predeceased by his parents and older sister Gladys.
Phil leaves to mourn his wife, Faye, of 60 years; sons Troy(Maria), Mark(Nove) and Lance; grandchildren Justin(Jessica), Belinda(Preston), Sabrina(Drew) and Evan; great-grandchildren Braxxton, Jake, Wren, Emersyn and baby due in December 2023. He also leaves three brothers: Ron(Shelley), David(Colleen), Chuck(Gail); and, one sister Charlotte.
A Viewing/Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19th at 7:30pm at Chapel of Memories in Peace River, burial will be held Friday, October 20th at 10:00am at the Grimshaw W.I. Cemetery and Memorial Service will follow at the Grimshaw Pentecostal Church at 11:30am.
