Walter Audet, husband of Rita (St. Coeur) Audet, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully on Friday. March 18, 2022, at Bridgeview Hall at the age of 87.
Born in Belledune, NB, on January 15, 1934, he was the son of the late Martin and Malvina (Lagacé) Audet.
Walter spent all of his working years at Anderson’s Mill/Miramichi Lumber Company.
Besides his wife Rita, he is survived by two daughters Shirley Johnson (Thaddie) of St. Louis de Kent and Linda Johnson of Belle River, ON; two sons Leo (Joanne) of Belle River and Sonny (Roxanne) of Thompson, MB; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers Gerald (Sharon) of Belle River and Edgar (Norma) of Miramichi; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family of sisters and brothers in-law.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers Alcide, Lionel, Simon, and Martin; and three infant siblings.
In honoring Walter’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time. Graveside prayers will be in St Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date when family are able to gather together.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church.
