Obituary
With heavy hearts, the family of Suzanne Pelletier announces her passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, August 29, 2022. Suzanne was born in Edmundston on December 2, 1955; a daughter of the late Lucien and Micheline Pelletier, and the loving wife of Leonce Sonier.
To some of her closest she was known as Sue and to the rest of us it was Suzanne with a « z » not Susan. She had such a joie de vivre, she always carried a smile and was afraid to miss out on anything especially when it came to her kids and grandchildren.
She touched the hearts of so many children during her successful career as an Educational Assistant where she became president of her CUPE union for close to ten years, which kept her busy while her husband was away to work. Suzanne was always involved within the community; if it wasn’t the President of the Dame d’Acadie chapter she was volunteering at various family breakfasts with the knights of Columbus with her husband and kids. She was always keeping busy with her hands; she enjoyed many types of craft projects and thrived when someone sat down with her to learn or share knowledge of each project.
Along with her husband Leonce, she is survived by her daughter Andree Bourguignon (Marc), son Christian Deschenes (Rachel), sisters Nicole (Donald), Charlotte (Edouard) and Chantal (Daniel), brother-in-law Gerald, sisters-in-law Alma, Leona (Valerie) and Anne-Marie (Francois), as well as grandchildren Dominic, Gabrielle, Markus, Ariana, and Cormac, step-grandchildren Charla (Jesse) and Rebecca (Jason) as well as one step-great-grandchild, Charlie.
In addition to her parents, Suzanne was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Kaela.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Saint Francois de Sales Church, 77 Ragged Point Road on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:00 am. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
