Obituary
Ronald, Micheal (Porkchop – Ronnie Cat) Polak, passed away peacefully at the Edson Health Care Center on Monday, September 26th at the age of 64 after a long hard-fought battle with cancer.
Ron was born in Edson Alberta on February 28th, 1958, son of Mike and Irene Polak.
Ron will be loved and missed by; his life partner Lori Marcia (Napster), two children Michael Polak (Brandi), Joleen Polak, his father Mike, younger sisters Donna Brown (Rob) and Barb Mellersh (Gerry), his extended family Hugh Bussey (Anne), David Bussey and their families – as well as numerous Aunt’s, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren. Ron was pre-deceased by his mother Irene in 2011.
Ron spent 37 years travelling the rails from Edson to the Coal Branch. When Ron wasn’t working (which was not often) he enjoyed being outside in nature, hunting, fishing, and his most recent passion Trapline #2412.
“Porkchop” AKA Ronnie Cat also was an avid hockey and slo-pitch and player where he made many lifelong friends.
Those would wish, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer foundation – or similar fund or your choice. A special thanks to all the medical staff that supported Ron/Lori over the last 5 months.
A Memorial service for Ronald will be held on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Edson, Alberta at 1:00PM with a Lunch to follow
