GURR, ROBERT ERNEST
June 29, 1946-October 21, 2022
The family of Robert (Bob) Gurr is incredibly saddened to announce the sudden and unexpected loss of this beloved man who passed away at age 76 on October 21, 2022.
A devoted father to children Stacey (Jason) and Tina (Marcus); cherished grandfather (Poppa) to Blaine (Dana), Brayden, Tristan, and Autumn; faithful brother to Danny; and selfless and generous partner to Melissa. Predeceased by parents Ernest and Rose Gurr, sister and best friend Lorraine, and brother Donny, Bob will also be lovingly remembered and missed by many others, including close cousin George (Kathy).
A caring and kind man with a huge heart, Bob loved to drive his Corvette in good weather and endlessly renovate and fix things around the house. A commercial insulator by trade, he was a lifelong member of the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Local 95, and forever a tradesman. He also devoted many years in his earlier days to coaching both girls’ softball and boys’ hockey.
A memorial service will be held at Hockley Community Centre, 994174 Mono-Adjala Townline, Mono, ON, on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The family hopes all who knew Bob will join them.
A tree will also be planted in memory of Bob in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The 21st Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
