Krauss, Rita Dorothy – We regret to announce the passing of Rita (White, Delaney) Krauss, born and raised in Stephenville, Newfoundland. Rita passed peacefully at the age of 91, in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital on December 11, 2022 with her family by her side.
She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph A. and Esther (March) White; brothers, Nicholas Percy, Percy Joseph and Albert White; ex-husbands, Leo Delaney, Reinhold Krauss.
She is survived by brothers and sisters, Roy Joseph, ‘Sister’ Mary, Everett Joseph, and Sheila (White) Bozec; children, Therese Dykstra, Christopher (Molly), Tony (Susan), Tina (Dan Shipley), Percy (Rachelle), Sandy (Wade Young), Joseph (Dana); grandchildren, Leah, Kyle, Jenny, Nicholas, Sheila, Jeremy, Ben, Emily; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Over her life, Rita was known for her volunteer work at various churches, gardening, the great outdoors, and her love of all animals, especially her favourite horses and dogs.
Many thanks to the wonderful Home Care Workers from Northwood, the wonderful staff at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital and EHS (Ambulance) Services, and Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, for their exceptional care and assistance. It is very much appreciated.

My heartfelt sympathy at the loss of your cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I had the privilege of of meeting your energetic,dynamic loved one in western Canada. She lived with zest and pep beyond her years and I’m sure she’s dancing a reel with the heavenly chorus.
