Obituary of Reginald Desjarlais
Reg Desjarlais, “Yellow Eagle Man,” late of Piapot First Nation, SK, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Pasqua Hospital on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the age of 71 years. Predeceased by grandparents JB and Nympha (nee Dieter) Kaiswatum and James Desjarlais and Lottie Fox; parents Philip and Rose (nee Kaiswatum) Desjarlais; siblings Lloyd, Walter, Irene, Donna, David, Alvin, William, and 4 in infancy; great-granddaughter Evelyn; in-laws George and Evelyn Missens; as well as brothers and sisters-in-law. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Desjarlais; children Marc and Danielle (Stacey); grandchildren, Makiah, Natayai, Serenity, Taven, Brennan, and Stacey; great-grandchildren, Shanaya, Braelynn, and Noel; sisters-in-law May Desjarlais-George, Bernice Desjarlais, Doris Weekusk, and Donna Blackstar; last surviving brother James Desjarlais Sr.; brothers and sisters in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and extended family. Reg was born on January 5, 1951, on Piapot First Nation. He attended school in Cupar, SK and Weyburn, SK. Reg was a carpenter, band counselor for 20+ years, registry clerk and fine option program. He also sat on the FHQCCLB to present for 20+ years. Funeral Services will be located on Piapot First Nation. The Wake will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.
