Obituary of Michael Joseph Bewley
Bewley, Michael William – age 75 of LaHave, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Ireland on May 5, 1947, he was a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Manico) Bewley. Mike is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughters, Harmony (Jeremy) Cornwell, Maple Ridge, B.C.; Amanda Gauthier (Phil Cardozo), Grimsby, Ont.; sister, Claire Fitzherbert, Co. Carlow, Ireland; brother, Rodger Bewley (Robbie), West Ireland; grandchildren, Petra, Noah, Ashley, Connor, Hannah, Darien and Grayden; beloved nieces and nephews, Simon, Craig, Keith, Allison, Mark, Jayne, Kate, Nicola and Kara. Besides his parents, Mike was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Bewley.
Mike had a passion for world travel and, while his destinations were varied, the one constant was his ability to connect with everyone he met. He loved nothing more than to start a chat with a stranger or a friend and settle in for a good conversation. He was also an avid sportsman (and that included channel surfing amongst all the sport programs) with a passion for rugby.
A service for Mike will be held at a later date in Ireland. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater where online condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
