Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael Paul Defazio, which occurred on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, on September 8, 1954, he was a son of the late Douglas and Pauline (Armstrong) Defazio.
Mike enjoyed going camping and had a passion for food, always having something on the barbecue or smoker. He loved seeing the muscle cars at the car shows and building cars himself. He was the owner of Defazio Auto Body for 34 years. His biggest passion in life was his loving wife Judy, and he loved spending time with his “little monsters”.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Judy Defazio; son Joey Defazio (Angela); daughter Tina Raiche (Lloyd); grandchildren Monika, Marcus, Eljay (McKenzie), Emily (Kody), and Cole; great-grandchildren Arya and Everly; as well as several nieces, nephews.
Aside from his parents, Mike is predeceased by his brothers Wayne, Steve, and Joseph.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation in the funeral home chapel. For those who wish, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to Diabetes Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
