It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Margaret Halbot (nee: O’Neil) announce her passing at Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL on May 27, 2022, at the age of 96 years. She was second born in a family of seven siblings to her loving parents on December 10, 1925, in Holyrood, NL.
She will be remembered with love and beautiful memories by her children Judy (Gary) Vickers, Wanda (Robert) Williams, Wayne (Elaine) Halbot & Kathy Blake; grandchildren Wendy, David, Kevin, Shannon, Marc, Kyle, Mandy, Julie, Jonathan, Sarah, Kristin, Heather, and Elizabeth; 14 great grandchildren; siblings Ella (Marty) Martinek, Kathleen Russell and Rita (Fraser) Moore, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Walter Halbot; daughter Delia Connell; parents Delia and John O’Neil; siblings Philomena(Raymond) Bennett, Jerome (Olivine) O’Neil, and Phonse (Geraldine) O’Neil; son-in-law Neil Blake; and brother-in-law Gerry Russell.
Friends may visit the family at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Sunday, May 29, 2022, from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will be conducted from Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 2pm with Father Boniface officiating. Burial will take place in Deer Lake at a later date.
The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to Father Paulose, Father Boniface, special friend Marg Urguhart, and all the staff of the Long Term Care Home for their continuous compassionate support. We are so grateful for the generous care that has been shown to Mary, our precious mother, and to all those who love her. Donations in her memory can be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish. Flowers as an expression of sympathy are welcomed.
