À la mémoire de
Margot Ilse Stadtegger
8 août 1929 –
29 janvier 2022
Margot died peacefully at her home in the Chartwell Grenadier Retirement Residence, Toronto, in the presence of her son, Glenn, and daughter-in-law, Catherine, ending a long, well-lived life filled with love, travel, family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Andy (1997) and will be deeply missed by Glenn, Catherine and her grandchildren Lauren and Philip.
Born in Ballenstedt, Germany, and living for a number of years with her parents in both Austria and Germany, she immigrated to Canada in 1956. Shortly after landing, she met Andy, who had immigrated from Austria a few years earlier, and they married in 1957, beginning a long and happy life together. Not a weekend would pass without their house being filled with friends, entertainment and countless pool parties, almost always unplanned. They also embarked on world travels that would take them to over 50 countries, finding many friends along the way. After Andy’s passing, Margot continued her travels, sometimes alone, sometimes with her Church and sometimes with her friends. She was fortunate to remain in good health late into her life, living independently and driving until she was 87 years old. Her last years were more sedentary, spent visiting her family, watching the sporting events of her grandchildren and enjoying the entertainment offered in her new home. Throughout her life, what mattered most to Margot was her family. She will always be remembered as a supporting and loving wife, mother and Omi.
A private service will be held at St. Pius X. Interment at Duffin Meadows Cemetery, Pickering.
