It is with great sadness that the family of Marcia Lynn Tanner, 42, of Blue Rocks announces her passing on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at home surrounded lovingly by her family.
Born in Lunenburg, she was the daughter of Linda (Sabean) Tanner of Blue Rocks, and the late Wayne Tanner.
Marcia worked with Lunenburg County Home Support as a CCA for most of her working life, where she provided compassionate care and support to many. Marcia was an extremely devoted and loving mother to her two children, Kira and Ethan. Being a single mother posed its challenges, but Marcia did everything she could to create fond childhood memories for her children to carry with them throughout their lives.
Marcia is survived by her daughter, Kira Tanner (Devon Rafuse), Bridgewater; son, Ethan Day, Blue Rocks; mother, Linda Tanner (Mike Wile); sister, Vala Tanner, Blue Rocks; brother, Wayne Tanner (Tenesha Foster), Liverpool; niece, Bailey; and nephews, Keegan and Eli; her aunts, Susan (Rickey) Spidle, Margaret (Rod) Wentzell and uncle, John (Suzanne) Sabean, as well as her dog, Nova, cats, Smoky, Oreo and Reno and her many cousins, near and far.
She was predeceased by her father, Wayne Tanner in 2015; grandparents, Leonard and Beulah Tanner, Edmund and Theresa Sabean; as well as several aunts and uncles.
A great big thank you to Dr. Catherine Kelly for going above and beyond and a special thank you to her home care girls, she loved you all. .
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a service to celebrate the life of Marcia will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21st, 2022. Interment will be in Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Blue Rocks. In accordance with Covid-19 regulations, masks will be required.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation, or charity of your choice.
