Mabel Reta Knowlton 19282022

Mabel Reta Knowlton
1928-2022
Mabel Reta Knowlton, 94, of Hillsborough passed away on
August 24th, 2022 at the Fundy Royal Manor with her family by her
side. She was the wife of the late Melvin
Knowlton.
Mabel was born in Curryville on May 5th, 1928 daughter of
the late Archie and Viola (Brewster) Hawkes.
She was a housewife and worked at T.Eaton
Company. She was an active member of the Albert Mines Senior
Citizens and Hillsborough Seniors. She loved making quilts
and she had some of her quilts all over the world , such as in Germany
and all over the US. She enjoyed playing bingo and was
usually quite lucky. She had a love of shopping and always
looked her best. Above all things she enjoyed
spending time with family and friends.
Mabel was definitely the matriarch of the family
and she let her feelings known, she did so with a good
heart. She only wanted the best for all her family including
her siblings and their families. She was very organized and
always knew what the next steps should be. One thing about
Mabel was she did it her way. She enjoyed her life and lived
it to the fullest. She was a real blessing to all those who
had the privilege of knowing her. Lots of laughs
and many fond memories were made with
Mabel.
She had a very special place in her heart for her
grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. Mabel felt
blessed to be able to spend some time with Lewis’s family in Alberta
just this past Christmas as she travelled to be with them.
She also felt blessed when Lloyd was married to Linda and knew had
someone special in his life to help when she wasn’t here.
She was so proud of her family and kept a close eye on them all and
made sure they were happy. She had many nieces and nephews
that she was close to. She will be
remembered for her great strength and love that she shared
with everyone. Even though she was 94 the loss of a mother
is the first thing in life we have to face without her. ” FAMILY-
Where life begins and love never ends.”
She will be deeply missed by her two sons, Lloyd Knowlton
(Linda) of Lower Coverdale and Lewis Knowlton (Tracey) of Alberta; her
cherished grandchildren, Ronald (Roxy), Kevin (Emma), Natalie (Josh)
and Logan; great-grandchildren, Casandra, Daphne, Isadora,
Catalina and Charlie; sister-in-law, Muriel Hawkes of
Hillsborough. She is also survived by several nieces,
nephews, all her extended family and many friends.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her
husband, Melvin Knowlton; infant son, Leroy;
daughter-in-law, Barbara; brothers, Howard (Doris), Reginald (Doris),
Vaughn, Bertram (Gertrude) (Nettie); sisters, Lavinia (Elmo), Madeline
(Austin), Bessie (Aubrey) (Weldon) , Marion (Clark)
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with
visitation on Monday evening from 6-8pm. The
funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August
30th, 2022 at 2:00pm with Rev. Peggy Reid officiating.
Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lower Cape,
NB.
For those who wish donations in Mabel’s memory to the
Mountain View Cemetery would be greatly appreciated.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the
Fundy Royal Manor and all their Staff they went above and beyond in
Mabel’s care. Thank you to everyone.
