We are devastated to announce the passing of Brad Kommes on August 8, 2022. Brad passed away suddenly with his loving wife by his side.
He leaves behind his heartbroken wife Lisa and his young daughter Chelsea, and they can’t imagine a life without him. He was an amazing husband and a loving and dedicated father, and his passing has left a deep and lasting hole in our hearts.
He also leaves behind his sister Joanne Duthie; niece Sam (Landon); great nieces Alyssa & Hanna; his nephew Mitch (Jordan) and many close family members from Lisa’s family that loved him dearly.
The last 20 years he shared with Lisa were spent full of joy and laughter while spending time exploring British Columbia, camping and quadding and fishing the backcountry, and raising their beautiful daughter who was the apple of Daddy’s eye.
Brad’s life was full of adventure and excitement starting as a young man with jobs as a white-water rafting guide, dive instructor, and even some summers fighting wildfires. He also loved sailing and racing out of the Yacht Club. He had many close sailing friends and loved to join them for a beer after the races to tell tall sailing tales. He loved the outdoors and discovering new camping and hunting places. He enjoyed spending time with his hunting partners sitting around the campfire enjoying some good beer and great laughs. He was also a talented do-it-your-self and handyman who was always eager to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbours.
Brad was the owner and president of Arctic Data Corp since 1991. He was very proud of the software product his company developed with his team Brad M and Jason D. Brad cared deeply about his employees and always encouraged them to maintain the family as a priority. He had many long-time clients and business associates who he considered friends.
Brad was truly bigger than life itself and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
We will miss your wonderful smile, hearty laugh, and generous heart. We love you so much.
