Kenneth Edward Ken Nedeljak 2022

Obituary for
Kenneth Edward “Ken” Nedeljak
Ken Nedeljak of Whitecourt, AB, recently passed away at the age of 57 years.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Kaylum and Kyle, both of Spruce Grove; daughter, Shania Byer of Whitecourt; mother, Catherine “Betty” Anderson of Whitecourt; father, Tony Nedeljak of Pincher Creek; brothers, Terry (Leslie), Rusty (Debi); sister, Tammy (Leo) Aubin; grandchildren, Nathan, Aaliyah, and Jace; best friend, J.B; and many more friends. Ken was predeceased by his dad, Vic Anderson; brother, Tim; and stepsister, Sherry.
Ken came into this world in Calgary, AB, April 22, 1965, a brother to Tammy, Tim and Terry. He lived in Cochrane until the age of 3 years when his family made the pilgrimage to Pincher Creek where he began his early school years.
Ken loved to fish; his Pincher Creek home was beside a creek where his sister, brothers and cousins spent all day, every day. The rule of the house was, “you can’t go fishing by yourself until you can swim”, so needless to say, there was no problem with swimming lessons. Summer mornings thereafter, when the sun came up, his mother would be awakened by a shoulder tap and loud whisper, “Mom, I’m going fishing, ‘k’?” Soon he’d return home with a fish for his breakfast.
Ken was an avid sportsman, enjoying cycling, hockey, volleyball, swimming, and baseball. All things to do to keep busy as “sitting around” was not in his vocabulary.
In 1976, the move to Whitecourt was made when his mother married Vic Anderson and the family grew by two with brother, Rusty and sister, Sherry. Six teenagers made for a busy household!
Ken worked at many jobs from the time he was a teenager. His adult life was spent working in the oilfield at many different occupations. Ken’s love of hunting and fishing continued until his passing. He enjoyed his flowers and gardening (which he learned from his grandma as a little boy) almost as much as the greatest joy in his life – his grandchildren!
Thank you to Whitecourt R.C.M.P. Corporal Hibbs for the kindness shown to the family.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 1, 2022, at the Whitecourt Legion Branch 44, 4928 – 51 Avenue, Whitecourt, AB, with Reverend Ruth Lotholz officiating.
In lieu of other tributes, contributions may be made to the Whitecourt Fish and Game Association Scholarship Fund, PO Box 3, Whitecourt, AB T7S 1N3.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Kenneth Edward Ken
