Obituary
Passed away in his 95th year on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Muskoka Shores Care Community, after a decline in health over the last year.
John was predeceased by his siblings Martha Jane Watson (Harry), Norma McKenzie (Gordon), Flora Crockford (Russell), Wilbert “Pat” Gallaugher and Earl Gallaugher. Survived by his sisters-in-law Beth Gallaugher and Shirley Gallaugher as well as many nieces and nephews.
John’s working life was spent in lumbering and construction, mostly in the Bracebridge area.
He enjoyed many years hunting, fishing and socializing with family and friends at his cottage on Bigwind Lake. His storytelling was enjoyed by all.
The family would like to express our appreciation to all members of the health care teams who cared for John at James Street Place, South Muskoka Memorial Hospital and Muskoka Shores Care Community.
As per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held later in the spring.
If wished, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Foundation www.healthmuskoka.ca/ or Manna Food Bank, Bracebridge mannafoodbank.ca/ and may be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home.
