Obituary
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of John Alan Collyer on October 31, 2022 in Athabasca, Alberta . Born on March 7, 1945 John grew up in Dunstable, Alberta and moved to Edmonton with his father Charlie, mother Mildred, sister Donna and brother Claude in 1953.
John left behind his wife Diane, along with his daughter Jacqueline (Andrew), son Ryan (Tracy) and his grandchildren (Benjamin, Callum, London, Warrick). John is also survived by his sister Donna and brother Claude and many nieces and nephews, god daughters and other loving friends and family
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 12, 2022 at 1:00pm at Stony Plain Alliance Church (2 Keystone Dr. Stony Plain, Albert.
For friends in the Calling Lake area that cannot come to the Celebration of Life a gathering of memorial for John at later date and will be posted to social media and in Communit
The family would also like to acknowledge all the Health Care staff at the various facilities that were a part of John’s treatment and care. We would like to acknowledge the efforts of Dr Adekunle Ogunnupe and the nurses at Athabasca Hospital during John’s last days.
In lieu of flowers the family would ask that donations be made to Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton on behalf of John Alan Collyer.
