Obituary of Grace Ethel Hawkins

The passing of Grace Ethel Hawkins of Burtts Corner, NB, wife of the late George Hawkins, occurred on August 9, 2022 at Nashwaak Villa, Stanley, NB. Born on June 30, 1935 in Burtts Corner, NB, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Minnie (Wilkins) Edmondson. Grace enjoyed reading, knitting, Sunday drives and spending time with family.
Grace is survived by daughters, Ann Rediker (Bill) of Stewart, BC and Wendy Goodine (Shane) of Taymouth, NB; sons, Calvin Hawkins of Edmonton, AB and Terry Hawkins (Tracy) of Burtts Corner, NB; sisters Alice Bird of Fredericton, NB; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Phyllis Merrithew, Clara Yerxa and Mavis Brewer; brothers, Benjamin Jr., Johnnie and Walter Edmondson.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 1 to 2 pm, followed by a Memorial Service from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel at 2 pm with Rev. Debbie Edmondson officiating. Interment will take place in the Burtts Corner Community Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Shane Hawkins, Brian Edmondson, Shane Goodine, Willie Hanscom, Matthew Hawkins and Jimmy Edmondson. For those unable to attend the service, you are welcome to register to view the live stream at www.yorkfh.com. A special thank you to the staff of the Nashwaak Villa and the Carlisle Special Care Home for the exceptional care they provided during Grace’s time there.
