Obituary
Grietje ”Grace” Eelhart (nee Bakker), formerly of the Netherlands, went home to The Lord on September 19, 2022 in Edmonton, AB at the age of 91.
Grace was born the eldest child to Willem and Greetje Bakker on February 16, 1931, she grew up with and loved her siblings: Siebe Bakker, Menna Jansen, Joke van Diik, Ria van Luik, Marry van Dam, Klaas Bakker, Willy de Bruin Bakker, and Anna Bakker.
Grace was pre-deceased by her husband Pieter “Peter” her sons Bill, Jim and Nick, grand-daughter Julia, brothers Siebe and Klaas, and sisters Anna and Menna. She is survived by her children, Chuck (Regina), Claire (Elsie), Stan, Gerry, Margaret (Terry), Jeanette(Michael), Nicks’ wife Tian Hua, Jims’ wife Maureen, daughter-in-law Marian, 23 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
A viewing will take place on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 7 to 9 PM at St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert.
Interment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, 10132 – 163 Street NW, Edmonton, on September 27, 2022 at 10 AM. A funeral service will then be held at Providence Canadian Reformed Church, 12905 122 Ave NW, Edmonton at 11AM.
Grace was devoted to her family and faith, loved music and was loved beyond measure by her siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Thank you to the staff at Emmanuel Home, St. Thomas and Dickensfield Care Centre, whose care for Oma greatly helped and comforted her family knowing she was well taken care of.
