Gerald (Jerry) Turowetz
It is with profound sadness that the family of Jerry (Turbo) Turowetz announces his passing on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Beloved husband and best friend of Judy Liberman for fifty-six years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Jeremy and Caitlin, Joanna and Mervin. ‘Super Zaidie’ of Jagger, Jaylaa, Jemma, and Jewels; Waldo and Gusman. Son of the late Jacob and the late Esther Turowetz; and son-in-law of the late Abe and the late Lily Liberman. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Allan and Gail Turowetz, and the late Benny Turowetz; and brother-in-law of the late Sandra and the late Stanley Saltzman. Uncle of Randee, Marci, Garry and Patricia Saltzman; Jason, Mark, and Lianna Turowetz. Jerry was a very devoted and caring person to his family and all who knew and loved him, as well as a devoted fan of the NY Yankees. Special thanks to Rabbi Mordechai Zeitz and Cantor Hank Topas for their exceptional care, kindness, and devotion. Deepest appreciation to Drs. Linda Braha, Isaac Wyszogrodski, Jean-Haulis de Simon, Gerald Batist, Jean Zigby, as well as Karen Greenberg, and to all of Jerry’s dear friends. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, September 20 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Beth Tikvah Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at his home, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily through Sunday afternoon. Due to the advent of Rosh Hashanah, shiva ends Sunday afternoon.
