TEIXEIRA, Edward – Passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved one’s on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at age 80.
Left behind with a lifetime of cherished memories are his daughters Liza (Todd), and Soozie, their mom and his beloved wife Juliet, and their close family friends Christine O’Neill and Henry Hems.
His good nature, laughter, dapper appearance, and jovial ways will be missed by his sister Marie DeSouza, brother Joe Teixeira, his brothers and sisters-in-law, his many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends.
Edward is predeceased by his parents Henry & Mary Teixeira, his brother Anthony, and his sisters Celeste, Phil, and Cecilia, and his mother & father in-law Addie & Joseph D’Abreu.
We would like to thank all of the frontline workers that helped Ed through his NPH Journey (Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus).
Thanks to Dr. Sharma & The Neuro team at Hamilton General (a special shout out to Alex, coordinator extraordinaire!). Thanks to all of the staff at Cambridge Memorial, Guelph General, and St. Josephs Hospitals. You took a shining to Ed and made him feel special and comfortable during his stays. Thanks to the EMS/Transport crews who bundled him up (or cranked up the air). We appreciate all that you did to keep him comfortable. Thank you Sanja (Tri-City Physio) and Dr. Dale (Coronation Chiropractic) for keeping him in motion
A special thanks to his Awesome Palliative Care team. You made it possible for him to remain in the comfort of his own home and have extra time with us. Dr. Holling, Nurses Michelle, Darina & Debbie and his wonderful PSW’s from Senior Home Care Angels & CDI. Thank you for caring for him like he was a member of your own family.
Edward’s family will receive friends and relatives at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge on Friday, January 7th from 6-8 pm and Saturday, January 8th from 10:30 – 11:30 am. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Visitation Parish, 16 Cooper St., Cambridge on Saturday, January 8th at 12 noon. Masks and social distancing will be required.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Hydrocephalus Canada.
