Obituary of Dorothy Locke
Dorothy Marie Locke (Clemens) Passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, at the Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, 13 Sept 2022, at the age of 74.
Dorothy was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She began her life’s journey on Bell Island with her parents, Edward and Mary (Polly) Clemens, and 16 siblings. This is also where she met the love of her life, Bob. They went on to marry and raise four loyal and doating daughters in the town of Conception Bay South. Dorothy was a very active member of the St. Thomas of Villanova Parish and CWL (former president). Her love for music was evident to many as she was a member of her parish choir and the Coastal Sounds community choir, and a karaoke enthusiast. Her uplifting and compassionate ways came through in her community volunteer work.
Beloved wife of Robert Locke, with whom she shared 54 wonderful years. Leaving to mourn her four children Wanda (Ed Jarvis), Deanne (Paul Whelan), Andrea (Jason Lundrigan) and Nicole (Mark Bailey). Dorothy cherished and loved her grandchildren, Shauna, Spencer, Rob, Matthew, Audrey, Jake, Jesse, Ben, Jack, and great-grandson Blake. Dorothy is survived by her siblings John, Sally, Mabel, Joyce, Lillian, Barbara, Nita, Gordon and Edward, and in-laws Martha, Rose, and Dave. She is predeceased by her parents, siblings Emma, Bill, Edith, Rhoda, Margaret, Eva and Robert, and in-laws Priscilla, Genevieve, Marie, and Alice. She will be fondly remembered by over 60 nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She had nothing but fond memories and deep love for all her family and friends.
Visitation will be at Hickey’s Funeral Home,570 Conception Bay Hwy, CBS, on Wed, 14 Sep from 6-8 pm and on Thu, 15 Sep from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Thomas of Villanova Parish, 2694 Topsail Rd, CBS on Fri, 16 Sep at 10:30 am. Burial service to follow at St. Edward’s Cemetery, St. Edward’s Road, Kelligrews, CBS.
