It is with sadness we announce the
passing of Doreen Zenda MacIvor, age 84,
of Amherst. Doreen passed away at the Cumberland Regional
Health Care Centre on Friday, December 9 , 2022.
Born in Amherst Shore, Doreen was a
daughter of the late Norman and Madeline (Jackson)
Embree.
Doreen was affectionately know as
Grammie to many people and was well loved by all. She
enjoyed puzzles and crafts.
Doreen will be sadly missed by her two
sons, Kevin (Judy), Oakville, ON, and Colin (Jean), Stellarton, and a
daughter, Jocelyn MacIvor, Amherst; six grandchildren, Keri (Sean),
Guelph, ON, Patrick (Amanda), Tidnish, Angela (Dennis), Oakville, Jenn
(Ryan) Perrow, St. Catherines, ON, Eric, Stellarton and Danielle
(Josh) Williams, Stellarton; four great grandchildren, Makayla,
Oliver, Cole and William, as well as her sister Myrtle Wagner,
Waverly; a brother Donald (Joan) Embree, Halifax, as well as several
step-brothers, step-sisters, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Doreen was
predeceased by her husband of 58 years, William MacIvor; her
brother-in-law, Charlie Wagner.
The family wishes to extend their
deepest gratitude to the VON and the staff at Gables Lodge for their
compassion and care.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Family Funeral Centre,
70 Church Street, Amherst, NS, (902 667 8777). Honouring
Doreen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral
service will be held at a later date to be announced.
