David Ronald Sauder was born on January 7, 1965, in Hodgeville, Sask. David passed away peacefully at home in Calgary on October 21, 2022, from glioblastoma. He was 57 years old.
David was a devoted husband to Jane Tang and father to Charity, Gillian, and Alice. He will be missed by his mother Linda Sauder, and sisters, Brenda Sauder, Karen Buck, and Connie Sauder.
David graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics. David was working in Winnipeg when he met and married Jane. After the family moved to Calgary, David worked on several large projects relating to the financial and commodity markets. Here he applied his considerable knowledge and skills in the areas of mathematics, statistics, logic, financial modeling, and computer programming. He had a brilliant mind and a humble disposition, a very rare combination in today’s world.
David was a loyal friend, always ready to lend a hand. He loved to travel with his family and had a passion for music, playing the bass guitar with the band “The Sentinels” for many years. David spent many happy days in the mountains, hiking and mountain biking with family and friends. Those who knew him will always remember his sense of humor. He will be missed.
A celebration of David’s life is planned for next year. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of David
