Daphne Chaulk 2022

Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daphne Chaulk on December 25th, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
Daphne was born on March 29th , 1947, in Petty Harbour and spent her early years enjoying her life there. She married her beloved husband, Austin, on September 17th , 1994, and together they built a beautiful life and family. Daphne was a devoted wife to Austin and loving mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Austin Chaulk, children, Christine (Bert) Dicks, David (Corina) Byrne, grandchildren Kayla (Wes) Booth, Hayley Dicks, Ella Byrne, and Ryan Chafe-Quinlan, great grandchildren Izabella and Ayden Booth, brothers Reg (Ann) and Derrick (Jean) Chafe, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother, Cavelle Chafe, father Fred Chafe, sister Christine Chafe, and brothers Harrison, David, Freddie, and Bobby Chafe, and son Rodney Quinlan.
Daphne was a kind and gentle soul who always put the needs of others before her own. She had a special bond with her grandchildren, whether near or far; and a love that could be seen and felt intensely by all. She had a special gift for making everyone feel loved and welcome, and her home was always open to friends and family. She cherished her visits to Petty Harbour, delivering Christmas goodies to loved ones. She was a talented cook and homemaker, and she took great pride in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all who entered her home. Her kitchen was always filled with the delicious smells of her home-cooked meals, and she loved nothing more than to share her culinary creations with others. Daphne was also an accomplished baker, and her delicious cakes, cookies, and bread were always a hit at family gatherings and celebrations.
But perhaps what Daphne will be remembered most for is her infectious laughter and mischievous sense of humour. She loved to joke around and always had a twinkle in her eye; she brought joy and light to all those around her.
In addition to her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Daphne was also deeply involved in her community. She was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church and devoted countless hours to helping others. She was a true servant at heart and made a positive impact on the lives of so many.
Daphne will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness that will be remembered for generations to come. May she rest in peace.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 28th from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. Funeral service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, Petty Harbour on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Burial to take place at a later date.
Flowers or donations can be made to St. George’s Anglican Church, Petty Harbour in Daphne’s name.
